Fishing

Our outfitter has access to the best brown trout river fishing in Ireland. The River Suir and its tributaries offer unrivalled fishing for native brown trout in beautiful countryside. Atlantic salmon and sea trout are offered in a different region from Relais & Chateaux Ballynahinch Castle.

Accommodation

The country’s legendary hospitality is only surpassed by its unspoiled beauty. In terms of accommodations, there are many different options throughout Ireland – ranging from comfortable B&B’s to very deluxe hotels, country inns, and castles.

Gear

For trout, a 9’ 5-weight is a great all-around rod with floating line. For the salmon, a 9’ single-handed rod with an 8-9-weight line is adequate for summer fishing. For larger water, a 12-14ft double handed rod with an 8-10-weight line is a great option. Some beats require wading.

Trip Specifics

We customize itineraries based on our client’s specific travel, sightseeing, and fishing objectives. Guests typically fly to Dublin, but there are also direct flights to Shannon. Either option would allow for touring en route to fishing locations. You may wish to hire a private vehicle and driver to enhance your experience. In addition to incredible fishing guides, Frontiers will arrange accommodation and transport, tee times, wonderful sightseeing, and whiskey tastings. Typical trips are 7-10-days and include 4-5 days fishing. Of course, we can book more, or less days as you wish.

Rates

Every trip to Ireland is different with a varying number of days fishing, possibly in different areas staying in different hotels and with or without non-fishing extensions. Therefore, every trip is by quotation once planned based on your preferences, as well as choice of accommodation.
